The Kansas Department of Health and Environment gave an update on the COVID 19 pandemic this afternoon.  The number of cases in Kansas has risen to 1,588, with 80 deaths associated with the virus.  There have been 359 hospitalizations reported.  Franklin County remained at 12 cases, Johnson County reports 343, Douglas 42, Miami 4, Linn 5, Osage 4, and Anderson County still has no reported cases.

The peak in Kansas cases is still a couple weeks away and Governor Laura Kelly announced yesterday that she has extended the Stay At Home Order.

She adds that the State needs to see a consistent decline in cases and she would be working closely with business leaders, economist and other leaders to determine when she can reopen the economy safely and effectively.
