There was a car pursuit through Ottawa, but it wasn’t the kind of pursuit you normally see.  The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says just before 1:00 yesterday afternoon, a Deputy tried to stop a light blue chevy impala in the 200 block of South Main, but the driver wouldn’t comply.  The driver then led authorities from three different law enforcement agencies in a long slow pursuit through the streets of Ottawa for an hour and thirteen minutes.  Stop sticks were deployed and deflated three of the car’s tires.  After a long journey down Main Street, where officers blocked entrances to businesses and intersections, Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies boxed the vehicle in on a County roadway near Nebraska and Kingman.  Forty Three year old Michael Vance from Kansas City Missouri was taken into custody without incident and charged with felony fleeing and eluding and driving while suspended.  A Press release from the Sheriff’s Office did not give a specific speed during the pursuit, but unofficial sources report the car at times was going 10 miles and hour or slower.
