At her daily news conference yesterday, Governor Kelly gave the latest numbers on COVID 19 across the State and addressed the need for more testing, as well as giving an update on unemployment benefits in Kansas.

Kelly says the number of cases in Kansas has gone up to 2.023 with 107 deaths associated with the virus. There have been 419 hospitalizations reported.  Franklin County remained at 12 cases, Johnson County reports 384, Douglas 43, Miami 4, Linn 5, Osage 4, and Anderson County still has no reported cases.

Governor Kelly is calling for more testing and the KDHE has made it easier to do that by easing restrictions:

She added that the Department of Labor has completed implementation of unemployment benefits from 18 to 26 weeks.  The policy will go into effect automatically and claims will not have to be refiled.
