At her daily news conference yesterday, Governor Laura Kelly, says she has signed an order temporarily easing regulatory measures on Health Care Providers, saying Health Care Facilities need as much flexibility as possible as Kansas approaches the peak in COVID 19 cases, to make sure hospitals don’t become overwhelmed:
She added that these workers will be covered by liability protections of the Kansas Emergency Protection Act. Kelly says the number of cases in Kansas has gone up to 2,211 with 110 deaths associated with the virus. There have been 432 hospitalizations reported. Franklin County remained at 12 cases, Johnson ounty reports 396, Douglas 44, Miami 4, Linn 5, Osage 5, and Anderson County still has no reported cases.
Governor Kelly also discussed the reopening of the economy, which she says will be gradual. More details of the economic plan will be released next week.
