An injury accident on 59 Highway between Kingman and Rock Creek Road yesterday afternoon left a Richmond woman with serious injuries. A vehicle driven by 72 year old Shirley Joyce of Richmond was headed south on 59. The vehicle was reported to be weaving all over the road, and struck a mailbox north of the accident scene, before drifting into the northbound lane, where it collided with a semi truck driven by 38 year old John Paul Boudreaux of Tampa, Florida. Emergency responders had to use extraction equipment to remove Joyce from the car. She was taken to Advent Health Ottawa with serious injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured in the crash. The highway was shut down for several hours as authorities investigated the scene. First responders from several different agencies assisted at the accident scene.
