Despite big increases in the number of COVID 19 cases in Kansas, Governor Kelly is confident we have nearly reached our peak and is sure the State can start reopening its economy in phases next week.  However, Kelly is most concerned with the huge financial deficit the COVID 19 crisis has taken on the State’s Budget.  Kelly says the Federal Government needs to act:

The Kansas Budget Deficit is estimated to be a least 1.3 Billion dollars.

The number of COVID 19 cases has climbed to 3,174, with 118 deaths, and 485 people have been hospitalized.

Franklin County remained at 12 cases, with all fully recovered.  Johnson County reports 430, Douglas 49 with 39 recovered, Miami 5 and all recovered, Linn 5, Osage 5, and Anderson County still has no reported cases.

Governor Kelly says she will have detailed plans for a phased reopening of the economy by the end of the week.
