If you have been out by Pomona Lake lately, you may have notice changed in the release of water at the spillway. Yesterday afternoon, officials at the lake increased the discharge rate at the lake to 1000 cubic feet per second. Operations manger Scott Rice says they are trying to lower the level of the lake. The level is at 879 point 9 feet which rice says is almost five feet higher than normal. As we progress into what is normally a wet season, official want to keep the lake at or near normal to accommodate rain runoff from streams that enter the lake. Rice says this is routine and they will continue to adjust the flow as the season goes on dependent on the amount of rain the area gets
