You might remember a slow speed chase, of sorts, that wound its way through town a couple weeks ago. Many people wondered why law enforcement didn’t make the stop before they did, allowing the vehicle to slowly make its way down Main Street and out of town to the south. Sheriff Jeff Richards says you never know what is in the vehicle with a suspect and don’t know what the person is going to do when stopped. He says the goal was to block entrances to businesses and side streets and funnel the car away from people:
Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies boxed the vehicle in on a County roadway near Nebraska and Kingman. Forty-three year old Michael Vance from Kansas City, Missouri was taken into custody without incident and charged with felony fleeing and eluding and driving while suspended.
