Governor Kelly gave few hints to what her plan to reopening the state may look like at her news conference yesterday. She did extend the emergency disaster declaration until May 14th, not the stay at home order, just the emergency declaration order.  She says expanded testing is the key to reopening the state and rebuilding the economy and there is no doubt many parts of Kansas need stepped up capabilities to test those with symptoms. To do this the state has turned to the private sector.

Governor Kelly will deliver an address on her administration’s official plan to reopen Kansas in a three phase program tonight at 6:30. KOFO will air the governor’s address, live.

The KDHE updated the number of COVID-19 cases in Kansas. As of this afternoon, Kansas had 4,238 cases with 129 deaths and 523 hospitalizations.
