The 2020 Kansas Democratic Primary is over and the winner has been announced. Former Vice President Joe Biden was declared the winner with 76.9% of the popular vote. ABC’s Mark Remilard with more:
Senator Bernie Sanders was the only other candidate to reach the viability threshold with 23.1%. For the first time since 1992, the Kansas Democratic Party assigned delegates through a primary, not a caucus. The 2020 Primary set a participation record with a total turnout rate of 34.7% among registered Democrats in Kansas.
