Franklin County is cranking up COVID 19 testing. EMS and Emergency Communications Director, Nick Robbins, told the Franklin County Commission yesterday morning that they tested 108 people on Monday and Tuesday alone. That, compared on only 48 all of last week. He also say people need to keep following guidelines.
He added that testing will be increased over the next few weeks and cases will go up, and they are testing over three dozen people who, in a survey indicated they are symptomatic and volunteered to be tested.
Statewide, nearly 700 new cases have been reported in the last three days alone, bringing the State total to 5,734, with 144 deaths. County Officials say that if the number of cases does not flatten out soon, further restrictions may have to be put in place.
