A Rally to fight Racial Injustice is scheduled for this Friday evening at either City Park or Legacy Square. Other details are still being finalized. One of the Organizers is Lillian Durrey and she told the City Commission they want it to be peaceful, but it’s time to take on difficult issues:
Some slight changes in the Rally planned in Ottawa Friday night. The event will take place at City Park. They will conduct a quick march around City Park, then will meet at the Band Shelter, where there will be guest speakers from the Ottawa area. According to the groups Facebook Page., the Rally was moved to City Park only to make it more inclusive and safer for everyone, as well as take some weight off the shoulders of Business Owners of having a march down Main Street. Durrey spoke to the City Commission this morning about the Rally and says they are printing a flyer to give to Downtown Businesses providing details of the Rally.
