Douglas County’s Local Health Officer, Dr. Thomas Marcellino, has exteneded Phase 3 of the County’s Smart and Safe Reopening Plan through July 5th. Earlier the plan for moving into Phase Out was Monday, June 22, but based on the County’s recent Covid 19 case situation, Douglas County has decided to leave Phase 3 Restrictions in Place. As part of Phase 3, Mass Gatherings of more that 45 people are prohibited. All Businesses, activities and venues have been able to open in this Phase, if they can provide six feet of Social Distancing. Dr. Marcellino encourages people to wear a mask any time they go in public and business should require employees to wear masks.
As of yesterday afternoon, Douglas County had 91 Covid 19 cases since March 17th, with 77 of those cases fully recovered.
