After a standoff between opposing factions of the Ottawa School Board on doing repairs to the Track and Field at Ottawa High School, the Board has decisively voted to spend almost half a million dollars for a track overhaul. Ottawa Superintendent, Dr. Ryan Cobbs, says the development is a bit of a surprise:
The vote was six to one to do the total revamp. The lone opposing vote was Malydia Payne, who wanted to consult with several track coaches to get more input on desired features of the new track.
