Twenty one new Law Enforcement Officers graduated from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center at a ceremony last week. Two Baldwin Officers were in the Class. Tyler Stevenson, who served as the Class President and Vanessa Schmalz will be on duty as Officers of the Baldwin City Police Department. Stephenson was named to the Director’s Honor Roll and was also the recipient of the Welch Academic Award.

Graduates receive Certificates of Course Completion from the Center and Kansas Law Enforcement Certification from the Kansas Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training. The State’s Law Enforcement Licensing Authority. About 300 Officers enroll annually in the 14 week basic training programs. The training center offers continuing education and specialized training to over 10,000 Kansas Officers each year.
