The Ottawa USD 209 School District opens today, the last area school district to open its doors for the 2020 school year. When kids walk through the doors this morning, it will mark the 181st day since they were in a classroom. Six long months. Superintendent Dr. Ryan Cobbs, says the teachers and staff are ready:
Ottawa schools are opening on a half day schedule with half the students attending in the morning, the other half in the afternoon. The half at home will be receiving their lessons online. Cobbs says he hopes all school districts can return to normal full day school in the very near future.
