An injury accident on I-35 yesterday afternoon, sent a Lebo man to the hospital. About 1:30 yesterday afternoon, a flatbed truck, driven by 65 year old James Baugh, was northbound on I-35 at mile marker 183, when he drifted off the road and collided with the guardrail and bridge. The truck and the trailer it was pulling, went airborne and rolled over into a creek below the bridge. Baugh was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by Franklin County EMS and Ottawa firefighters.
Baugh was transported to Advent Health Ottawa for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. One lane of I-35 was shut down for about an hour as crews worked the scene and remove Baugh’s truck and the Ford F1-50 that was on the trailer, from the creek bed.
