Good news for Franklin County! The Health Department reported yesterday that there was only one positive COVID 19 test result since Monday and, on top of that, 10 people have been deemed fully recovered. That leaves 28 active cases, County wide, with 68 pending tests and one hospitalization. The County has seen a downward trend of late in positive cases.
Most surrounding counties have seen a drop in positives. In Anderson County there are 12 active cases, Miami County has 61, with 21 cases at a church in Louisburg. Osage County reported two new cases, with a total of eight active. Douglas County continues to be the most active county in the area with 33 new cases this week and a total of 735 active, with over 1,000 recovered. Kansas as a whole reports over 47,000 total cases since the pandemic began in March.
Franklin County Interim Health Director, Nick Robbins, says he has worked very closely with the County’s four school districts to assure they have a plan in place to provide students with a safe learning environment.
