The goal of a distillery relocation appears to be achieved with action taken by the Franklin County Commission. In July, Daryl Kleitz, owner of Buck U Distillery at 937 Bennet Road in Ottawa, asked to relocate to an unincorporated area around I-35 and Tennessee Road. Franklin County Planning and Zoning Director, Larry Walrod, says rezoning the area became a problem, an a Special Use Permit was needed for the move:
The County Commission agreed with the Planning Commission’s opinion of granting a Special Use Permit for the Distillery. They plan to relocate and expand operations at the old Stuckey’s building.
