The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued a boil water advisory for a portion of the City of Osawatomie Public Water Supply System, located in Miami County. The advisory applies to customers located north of 15th and Parker Streets and all of Charles Street. Officials issued the advisory because of a line break resulting in a loss of pressure in the system. According to the City of Osawatomie, crews have been out working on the line overnight and hope to have it repaired soon.
They advise customers to flush their water lines until they run clear. Boil water for one minute before using it to cook with or drink and monitor young children when bathing to assure they do not ingest it. This advisory is not related to the COVID 19 pandemic and they will continue to update the public as more information becomes available.
