If you are in need of food assistance, good news! The USDA has extended the Liberty Fruit Distribution for one more day in Ottawa. The food will be given away starting tomorrow morning at 8:00 in the Don Woodward parking lot. Franklin County United Way Director, Leigh Hanson says those in need can start lining up at the intersection of Third and Poplar with the line backing around the Bethel Chapel Church. They do ask that your car not block any intersections or driveways and to be courteous to neighbors in the area. When the volunteers are ready, the line will be signaled.
Future distributions are in question. Hanson says she will keep the public informed of any future distributions as they work hard to keep those in need well supplied with food. Also that morning is the ECKAN Food Distribution, also at the Don Woodward Center. That will take place after the United Way give away.
