A drive by shooting in Ottawa yesterday evening has left a neighborhood shaken and Ottawa Police looking for the suspects. About 6:00 last night, multiple 911 calls came in reporting shots fired in the 800 block of Olive Street. Officers from the Ottawa Police Department and Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered someone had drived by and fired shots at a home in that area. Shell casings were found in the street. One occupied home was hit by bullets as well as another unoccupied building in the backyard of the same residence.
Several witnesses reported to officers that a white, chevy passenger car with tinted windows and a spoiler was seen leaving the area after the shots were fired. It headed east on 8th Street from Olive. Scanner traffic last night indicated they were looking for a white chevy malibu.
Detectives from the Ottawa Police and Sheriff’s Office are investigating and following up leads and information discovered during the initial investigation. They are asking for the public’s help.
