A theft over the weekend has left the Franklin County United Way and the agencies they serve, in a pinch. Someone took United Way Computers, along with a couple chromebooks and the food that was stocked for kids who don’t have lunches. A movement is underway to get those items replaced. If you have an old laptop computer you would like to donate, or even a dektop, or if you would like to donate to replace the food that was taken, you can. Donations are being accepted at the Carnegie Center, as well as Davis Taylor Financial at 109 West Third.

Hanson says as far as food items, they need a little bit of everything, particularly snack items such as apple sauce pouches, flavored water, fruit snacks, snack size bags of chips, pretzels and any other items. With school underway, Hanson says it is critical they get the supplies back in stock.

If you can help, you can take donations of food or computers to the United Way office at the Carnegie Center or to Taylor Financial at 109 West Third. There is also an Amazon Wish List for some of the basic snack items shipped directly to them.
