After a mild weekend, COVID 19 cases in Franklin County have spiked since Monday. The Franklin County Health Department reported 13 new positive cases. There are 22 active cases in the County, two hospitalizations and 75 pending tests. These include a positive case on the OU Football and Baseball team. We’ll have more on that in the Sportscast. The new cases bring the total to 294 in Franklin County since the beginning of the pandemic, 262 cases have fully recovered.

City Manager, Richard Nienstedt, says masks are important:

The State of Kansas topped 50,000 total cases yesterday reporting 971 new positives and 52 deaths since Monday.
