Preliminary estimates reported by the Labor Market Information Services division of the Kansas Department of Labor and the Bureau of Labor Statistics show a seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 6.9% in August. This was a decrease from 7.2% in July and an increase from 3.1% in August 2019. Acting Secretary Ryan Wright says people still need assistance:

Kansas Employers have added jobs for the fourth consecutive month, with non-farm jobs up over 9,000, private sector up over 5,000 and government jobs by 3,000.
