The Wellsville USD 289 School District has confirmed a second student in the district, a football player, has tested positive for COVID 19. After discussing the issue with the Franklin County Health Department, all Wellsville High School Football activities have been suspended for two weeks, or through October 2nd. All players on the team will be quarantined during that period, however, only players with symptoms will need to get tested. If a test is negative, they will still need to quarantine for the two weeks.
Superintendent Ryan Bradbury says this protocol is different from other cases due to the sport involved. He asks parents of students in the district to closely monitor their kids for symptoms and, if you have been in close contact with anyone who may have been exposed or is a known positive, to not sent your kids to school, but contact the Franklin County Health Department.
