Governor Laura Kelly signed an executive order today providing for an extension of drivers’ licenses that would expire before January 26, 2021 and sets a staggered deadline for vehicle registrations, depending on when a vehicle was purchased. This order is part of her administrations ongoing response to the COVID 19 pandemic and her commitment to keeping Kansans healthy and keeping Kansas Open for business.

Kelly says due to logistical challenges, it’s important to provide Kansans with some leniency regarding driver’s license renewal, especially important as the election draws near, as people tend to use their driver’s license as a form of identification at the polls.
