It might be a little early, but the 50th Annual Garnett Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade will be sooner than you think! It will be held on November 28th and the theme for this year’s parade has been selected: “Golden Christmas Memories, 50 Years Of Joy”. The theme was chosen from entries from students in the area and the winners were Carter Hermann of Garnett Elementary and Bree Shafer of Westphalia Elementary. They received $25.00 in Chamber Bucks and a ride with Santa in the Parade.
Nominations are now being accepted for selection of the Grand Marshal for the parade. They will remain open until October 12th. Contact the Chamber office for an application.
A big night is planned on Parade Night. The Countdown to the Tree Lighting, the Fire Station Annual Chili and Soup Supper and special hours for all Garnett Downtown businesses. Organizers expect this year’s parade to be the biggest ever and you can be a part of it. If you, or your organization, would like to enter the parade, application forms can be found on the Garnett Chamber Website.
