The death rate from COVID 19 has gone down rather dramatically in Kansas over the course of the last month or so. The Secretary of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Dr. Lee Norman, says the reason is there are a lot more young people getting infected with the return of school, colleges and universities and sports:

Statewide, Kansas reported 56,592 total positive COVID cases since March, with over 1,300 new cases since Wednesday. Franklin County reported 15 new cases since Wednesday, 10 of those are age 20 or under, all under 30. There are 59 active cases in the County, for a total of 347 cases since the pandemic began, with three deaths.
