The City of Wellsville is pondering whether to use a Federal Grant to hire another police officer. The Grant is known as a Cops Grant and it amounts to $123,000 over three years. Police Chief, John Blair, told the City Council that a tragedy has caused a dilemma:
The Grant would only partly pay for a new officer. The City Council is expected to do a Cost Analysis to see what hiring a new officer would entail. The matter could come up again at the next City Council Meeting in October.
