The Franklin County Commission met yesterday to discuss whether or not to spend $90,000 in COVID Relief Money on upgrading the camera system at the Juvenile Detention Center. Commissioner Ian Dickenson asked how the cameras were considered a COVID related expense. County Administrator Derek Brown says it could be a point of contention:
The Commissioner decided the camera upgrade was not a major importance at this time and the money should be used for other expenses, such as software upgrades that will be required soon, or even tower upgrades for the Emergency Communications Towers. Further discussion will be held on the topic.
