The Ottawa City Commission adopted a proclamation recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. It was accepted by Franklin County Specialist for the Willow Domestic Violence Center, Martha Terhaar. She says what is really important about the Proclamation is the part about Community Partnerships as the pandemic has increased the need for their services, especially for survivors of domestic violence.
She also mentioned that Willow has an entire week planned for events with Ottawa University to highlight what they offer, and inform students of what domestic violence looks like and how they can help.
