As schools were forced into online learning last year and beginning this year, many areas of Kansas couldn’t keep up due to the lack of reliable broadband internet access. Governor Laura Kelly is looking to change that. Yesterday, she created the Office Of Broadband Development, that will pump nearly $50 million dollars into projects around the state and give access to more than 76,000 households and 6,000 businesses. Kelly says it’s more important than ever to have internet access:

She named Stanley Adams, current Director of Broadband Initiatives in the Commerce Department to head the office. He says the future of our schools, hospitals, businesses and communities depend on it.
