With the flu season just beginning, health officials are stressing the importance of getting a flu shot this year. Kansas is now in the red zone when it comes to COVID related hospitalizations at 154 per 100,000 residents and Kansas Health Secretary, Dr. Lee Norman, is concerned:
He adds that while the flu shot is not a 100% guarantee that you won’t get the flu, it reduces your chances by over 75% and if you do get it, the symptoms are usually much less severe.
The Franklin County Health Department is offering four Drive Up Flu Shot Clinics. Tuesday in Pomona, October 20th in Richmond, the 22nd in Wellsville and October 29th in Ottawa.
