You know that Franklin County is an agriculturally based County, but, do you really understand how heavily the County relies on farming and ranching? The Kansas Department of Agriculture has recently updated its Interactive Map of Kansas, showing the economic contribution of agriculture across the State.

There are over 1,000 farms in Franklin county, running the gamete of AG products from beef cattle ranching to grain farming to fruit farming. According the the latest report, those farms support over 1,600 jobs and account for 12% of the entire workforce in the County. The total final sales of all products is over $261 million dollars.

Beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots and dual-purpose ranching and farming is the top contributor, highest level contributing nearly $77 million dollars to the Franklin County economy.
