President Trump signed the National Suicide Hotline Designation Act into Law this past weekend. The Law makes 988 the new National Suicide and Mental Health Crisis Hot Line Number. The Bill was introduced by Kansas Senator Jerry Moran and three others who saw the need, especially during the pandemic for modernized Mental Health and Prevention Resources. The new number makes it easy to remember and will help connect callers in need of help with experts who can offer resources and hope to make it through a Mental Health Crisis.

The new number also included the Veterans Crisis Line for Veteran Specific Mental Health Support. Moran has pledged to push to get the new number up and working for people to use within the year.
