If the Ottawa City Commission approves, your electric rates will be going up. At the Regular Study Session, Assistant Finance Director, Laurle Gimzo, gave some details to City Commissioners:
The City Commission is expected to discuss the hike over several upcoming Study Sessions with a decision to accept or reject the rate hike coming at a November meeting. City officials say a previous increase has brought the Electric Fund into a better condition, but another increase is still needed to bring the Fund to the desired financial status.
