The new playground across from Legacy Square is open for kids to enjoy. You might notice the nice, soft rubber surfacing surrounding the equipment. It’s a poured in place, or PIP surface made from waste tires. KOFO’s Jeff Brewer has more:
It’s the fourth time Ottawa has partnered with the KDHE to enhance parks, but the first time for the PIP surfacing. Combined with Legacy Square Funds, the Goppert Foundation, equipment provided by Blue Cross and Blue Shield Pathways, and the City of Ottawa, a new playground was constructed.
The playground is on the northwest corner of First and Walnut.
