Last night two small political demonstrations were held in Ottawa with Republicans at 15th and Main and Democrats set up at 7th and Main. The demonstrations remained peaceful through the night with only some verbal jabs reported. One of the demonstrators is the wife of a farmer and she commented on how Trump’s Trade War with China has affected the farm. KOFO’s Lars Johnson spoke with her:
Another demonstrator is the owner of a restaurant and she says after thirty years of business they are struggling to stay afloat due to the ongoing pandemic. The main goal of their demonstration was to get their message out, which they say is a strong public education system, affordable health care, fair tax system, quality infrastructure and a healthy environment.
