As COVID cases rise in Kansas and Franklin County, local leaders are calling on the public to help curb the spread of the virus by doing one simple thing–wear a mask. While some may disagree, Ottawa Mayor Tom Weigand says it’s a small act that could save a life. He paraphrased a famous quote:
Health officials Nationwide says that without a proven vaccine, the most effective thing people can do is wear a mask, wash hands thoroughly and often, socially distance and avoid large gatherings.
