The Ottawa Utilities Department will soon have a new vacuum truck. Utilities Director Dennis Tharp says the truck is used for a lot of different things:
Tharp received approval from the City Commission for the new truck. Tharp says the city will pay slightly over $400,000 for the new vehicle and get about a $20,000 trade-in on the old truck.
In other business, the City Commission also approved the purchase of a new backhoe for around $100,000.
