For those who thought COVID would disappear after the election, think again. Franklin County experienced two more deaths and has the highest number of active cases we’ve seen since the COVID pandemic began in March. Numbers released last night show two more COVID related deaths have been reported since Wednesday and the number of active cases has reached an all time high of 150. The total number of deaths in Franklin County is now seven. Thirty one new positive cases have been reported since Wednesday. The current number of hospitalizations stands at five. There are a growing number of hospitals in Kansas with limited beds available. Franklin County is working in conjunction with local health systems to avoid this issue as limited resources become problematic for individuals experiencing all illnesses, not just those infected with COVID 19.
