COVID 19 is NOT going a way and continues to surge in Franklin County.
Over the weekend, the Franklin County Health Department reports there were 72 new cases. Sadly, there was an additional death of a county resident, bringing the county’s total to eight.
There are currently 209 active cases in Franklin County; there are 93 pending test results; and five hospitaliztions that have been reported to the Health Department. The new COVID cases continue to be a wide range of ages, as well as both symptomatic and asymptomatic.
Kansas has had over 105,000 cases since Friday alone, with over 1,000 deaths.
Health officials statewide are urging Kansans to follow safety protocols to help curb the spread of the virus. Wearing a mask, washing hands and avoiding large group gatherings are the best way to slow the spread.
