As we see an increase in COVID 19 cases all across the state, Anderson County is no different. Increased exposure led to the Anderson County Hospital imposing more strict policies regarding visitors las week. Basically, there aren’t any allowed. Friday, the Kansas Health Department reported Anderson County had recorded 308 total cases since the pandemic began, with 58 currently active cases.

Quarantine seems to be an issue for many people, not understanding exactly what it entails. The Tri County Health Department says an exposure to a case related quarantine is for 14 days, beginning the day after your last contact with the case. If you don’t develop symptoms of COVID 19 during your quarantine period, then you are released from quarantine at the end of the 14 days.

They also get a lot of questions about who is considered a ‘close contact’. A ‘close contact’ is having been within six feet for more than 10 minutes of a person who is positive. Like riding in a car, sitting at the table or watching a movie on the same couch.
