The Miami County Health Department is investigating what could be called a ‘super spreader event’ in Louisburg. During an investigation of multiple positive COVID tests, they discovered that many of the individuals had attended the same party. That party was a three day party on November 6th, 7th, and 8th. The party did not have a specific guest list, so identifying those who were in attendance and potentially exposed to COVID has been challenging.
The Helth Department reports that the majority of the people at the three day party were from surrounding areas and high school students.
They are encouraging anyone who attended the part to be aware they were exposed and say that it is imperative for them to quarantine at home through November 22nd and monitor for symptoms. If symptoms develop, contact the Health Department.
Mimi County has recorded 786 total cases as of yesterday.
