After talk of a City Wide Mask Mandate earlier in the week, Ottawa City Commissioners stopped short of a mandate, but agreed unanimously to a Resolution to support and encourage all people and businesses to wear masks to help curb the spread of COVID 19. City Manager, Richard Nienstedt:

This comes after Franklin County saw a surge in positive COVID cases over the past couple weeks. Interim Health Director, Nick Robbins, says the County has seen 916 total cases, over 625 from Ottawa alone and, he pointed out that Kansas saw 10 deaths over the weekend, half of those from Franklin County.
