Governor Laura Kelly announced that nearly 2,000 Kansas Small Businesses affected by the COVID 19 pandemic will receive a share of $37.5 million in Small Business Working Capital Grants. Kansas Businesses with fewer than 500 employees were eligible to apply for the Grant Funding, made available by Kelly’s Strengthening People and Revitalizing Kansas, or ‘SPARK” taskforce through the Federal Cares Act.
Grand Funds can be used to pay working capital expenses such as payroll, insurance, rent, mortgage payments, utilities, inventory and more.
Several Franklin County Businesses received some of the funds, including Grit N Grace Salon with $15,000; John Pierce with $20,000; Not Lost Brewery with $20,000; Prairie Paws Animal Shelter with $12,000; Sweet Pea Daycare at $5,000 and Vertical Vision LLC received $20,000.
