Kansas City International Airport is getting ready for its busiest week since the beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic. The Kansas City Star reports that KCI is expecting to see more than 200 daily flights on Wednesday and over the Thanksgiving weekend. In a press release, KCI Spokesman, Joe McBride, says that an estimated 180,000 passengers are expected to travel through KCI between November 20th and December 1st. That’s the busiest the airport will have been since March, but still represents a 55% decrease compared to 400,000 who traveled through the airport during the same time last year. The Centers for Disease Control is strongly recommending that people not travel this Thanksgiving, saying “postponing travel and staying home is the best way to protect yourself and others this year.”
