This is Giving Tuesday, a global day for generosity for people to be able to transform their communities and the world. This year, the Franklin County United Way has seen a two fold increase in demand for services and has only half the resources to help. Director Leigh Hanson says COVID 19 has doubled the number of requests for help, but donations are way down:

The United Way organized all the the USDA Food Distributions in Ottawa this year, provided remote learning after school tutoring program for students in the Spring when school was shut down and provided services to twice as many people than last year. You can donate to the United Way by calling 211, or hop on their website and give today.
