The Ottawa City Commission held a Public Hearing on the recommendation for Condemnation for a property at 628 Willow that had been abandoned for years and was in deteriorating condition. The son of the owner, Mark Tegtmeyer told Commissioners that he needed a bit more time as he had a potential buyer for the property. Commissioner Sara Caylor told the others that she dislikes using taxpayer monney to take down a home owned by a private citizen and gave an ultimatum:
The Commission granted a 30 day extension for the potential buyers to come forward, discuss options and begin work on renovating the property, as well as an extension for another property at 819 East 8th.
